AHS Krab

The AHS Krab (Polish for Crab) is a 155mm NATO-compatible self-propelled howitzer designed in Poland by HSW S.A. combining OBRUM s (OBRUM for Ośrodek Badawczo-Rozwojowy Urządzeń Mechanicznych – Polish for Research and Development Centre for Mechanical Appliances) UPG chassis, licensed AS-90M Braveheart turret with 52-calibre gun and WB Electronics Artillery Fire Control System Topaz. The Howitzer is equipped with S-12U engine and other elements (like road wheels) from PT-91 Twardy. Krab is still being developed and will join the Polish Army in near future.

History

The cannon was developed within the frame of the research program code named "Regina." The program's goal was to create an artillery piece caliber 155mm (or about 6 and 1/8th inches) for the Polish Army that would be an asset at the level of a division. As of May, 2009, only two cannons have been delivered and 48 are to be delivered. Currently there are 2 complete models participating in tests conducted by Polish Army. As of 2009 additional 6 are on order and will be ready for evaluation in 2012 along with battery command module "Regina".

AHS Krab 자주포는 폴란드 HSW사가 영국의 AS-90 Braveheart 자주포 포잡을 라이센스하고 52 구경장의 장포신을 채용해 통합시켜 개발한 나토 표준을 따르는 155mm 자주포이며 차량은 폴란드 Huta Stalowa Wala 장갑차량제작소가 개발하였하였고 SUM minelayers 와 차체를 공유합니다.

FCS는 러시아제 2S1 Gvozdika자주포에 사용된 "Topaz"를 개량하여 개발한 네트워크 전투용 통합 지휘통제시스템 "Azalia" BMS를 장착하는등 폴란드가 독자적으로 설계하고 통합하였습니다.

45 톤의 전투중량에 5명의 승무원이 탑승하며 차내에 60발의 탄약을 적재하며. 자위용으로 1문의 12.7mm NSW Utios 기관총이 포탑해치부에 장착되었습니다.
덴마크산 MVRS-700 탄도레이더를 장착, 초탄 발사후 탄도를 추적하여 정렬한후 2탄을 사격하며 화재진압장비, 고폭탄방어장비, 핵생화학 방어장비들이 장착되었고 야시장비와 GPS 항법장비등도 있습니다.
그러나 폴란드군의 예산부족으로 인해 2대의 시험용 차량만이 제작되어 2004년부터 시험을 해왔으며, 2007년도 배치를 목표로 18대의 초도생산분으로 1개자주포대를 편성할 것이며 일차 주문 예상 80대중 48대를 주문, 208년도부터 공급이 가능할 것으로 보고 있습니다.
T-72 전차에 포탑을 장착할 수 있다는 점을 고려하여 현재 인도가 이 자주포에 관심을 가지고 있다고 합니다,
